Text description by the designers;

Designed by Kiran Gala and Sonam Gala Gosalia, this home is a refined interpretation of modern luxury, balancing a light, airy aesthetic with carefully curated materials. The intent was to create a seamless flow between spaces while enhancing the sense of openness with 13-foot ceilings and a neutral palette of beige marble flooring and sandblasted travertine walls.

The living and dining areas merge into one cohesive expanse, unified by textures and subtle contrasts. A plush fur-lined sofa contrasts against deep green leather seating, while a custom green quarry marble coffee table serves as the centrepiece. Statement furniture from Natuzzi and Scarlet Splendour adds a touch of luxury, complemented by sculptural accents. Soft drapery and layered lighting enhance the warmth, creating a refined yet tranquil retreat.

The architects designed the passageway to be seamlessly inclusive of light, despite the absence of windows. A striking zig-zag marble inlay anchors the flooring, its dynamic pattern echoed in frosted glass panels that introduce soft, natural illumination. Mirrored walls further enhance the sense of depth, ensuring the space feels open and airy. Rich wooden textures and a curated selection of artwork elevate the corridor from a mere transition space to an engaging visual journey, making it an integral part of the home’s design narrative.

In the master bedroom, a sculptural stone bed-back, carved from a single rock into fluid wave-like forms, takes centre stage. On the opposite wall, a striking Scarlet Splendour piece enhances the warmth of the wooden panelling, set against a brass-metal backdrop that subtly conceals the entrance to the walk-in closet.

The son’s bedroom introduces a Swedish Bolon-clad bed-back that reinterprets woven vinyl in a bold, textured statement. Carefully considered materials and finishes give each room its identity while maintaining cohesion throughout the home.

The material palette interplays natural textures and contemporary finishes, ensuring a harmonious yet dynamic experience. By integrating thoughtful details and bespoke elements, this Mumbai home stands as a testament to effortless sophistication, where raw materials and refined craftsmanship come together in perfect balance.
