The home had to cater to the needs of a power couple, their two exuberant kids and live-in staff. The client wanted a refreshing, lively and elegant space that exudes warmth and style. The space is, hence, an amalgamation of contemporary elements with hints of classic design. Sleek modern furniture pieces and a subtle, elegant colour palette blend with classic art displayed on the walls.
One look at the accessories and art work sprinkled across the house clearly displays the love of cars, sports and brands of each of the family members and the design team managed to carefully incorporate their likes into quirky design elements within the house. The material palette ranges from marble, wood, veneer, metal, and glass to emphasize on contemporary design elements. Colours are kept very muted with just a few pops of colour to liven up corners and accent pieces.
The master bedroom displays a beautiful wooden four-post bed with a muted classic style wallpaper at the back, while the entire length of wardrobe shutters has a leather panel design, blending modern with classic. The kids’ room, on the other hand, is a very playful and energetic space with stunning custom artworks splashed across their walls and even the curtains having custom football motifs stitched into them.
Interesting and playful elements are juxtaposed with sober sculptural elements too to create a perfectly balanced space that caters to the varying age groups within the energetic young family.
