Text description by the designer;
Reverie House is almost a perfect blend of functionality and aesthetics. It has been designed by merging two apartments into a cohesive and expansive home. The project was undertaken with a keen focus on the client’s lifestyle, personal preferences, and the cultural importance of Vastu compliance. This residence is not only a haven for the family but also has spaces tailored for privacy, entertainment, and community.

Upon entering, guests are welcomed by a striking foyer featuring white marble flooring rich in character, setting the tone for the home’s cohesive design language. The foyer seamlessly transitions into the adjacent dining area and living room, a design decision influenced by structural considerations. The living area was envisioned as a hub for family gatherings and entertainment, featuring a thoughtfully designed curved panel detail on the TV wall. This motif recurs throughout the home, adding a sense of continuity and elegance. To tackle the challenge of low ceiling heights and prominent beams, innovative curved ceiling treatments were incorporated, maintaining an open and welcoming ambiance.

The dining area stands out with its Glamora wall art, serving as a striking focal point, while an abstract textured painting above the crockery cabinet adds an artistic touch. A sliding door separates the dining space from the kitchen, which is designed with understated finishes like white quartz and Phoenix laminate, exuding quiet elegance. One of the home’s standout features is the den — a cosy enclave crafted for intimate gatherings. This inviting space is anchored by a tan-orange sofa set against a backdrop of black-and-white artwork, balancing warmth and sophistication. A concealed bar with an integrated TV panel enhances functionality, offering clever hidden storage to align with the client’s preference for subtle design elements.

The adjacent powder washroom complements the den with its dramatic black-and-white tile pattern and tan accents, creating a cohesive and stylish connection between the spaces.
The private areas of the house are also crafted with equal attention to detail. The master bedroom, the largest in the home, features an upholstered bed back with elegant curves and an ottoman for added functionality. The washroom showcases blue fluted tiles paired with pristine white marble, creating a serene retreat. The bedroom for the son has been designed as a very young, masculine space with subtle tones of teal balanced by bold black marble details and textured grey walls.

Passages connecting the different parts of the house are done in continuity with half-height textured grey wall panels. Such subtle yet elegant elements unify the design and ensure a seamless flow through the residence. There are also bespoke fluted marble detailing and a hand-crafted piece inspired by the peacock which adorns the mandir, which is otherwise encased by ornate doors with bell embellishments which encapsulate spiritual grace.

Other spaces include a small study designed for reading as well as working from home for the father, while a guest bedroom with soft pink wallpapers and understated furnishing is a cosy space. The parents’ bedroom features a timeless elegance with the classic white and brown palette and veneer moulding details.
Despite the project’s structural challenges, including irregular layouts and low ceilings, the design team’s innovative approach transformed these constraints into opportunities for creative solutions. Through thoughtful planning and a refined palette of textures, muted tones, and strategic pops of colour, the residence achieves a balance of stunning aesthetics and practicality.

The unique strength of Reverie House lies in its ability to unify two distinct spaces into a cohesive home that celebrates harmony while honouring the individuality of each family member. Every detail, from bespoke furniture to custom artwork, reflects a meticulous focus on merging aesthetic aspirations with functional needs. The result is a home that is not only visually captivating but also deeply personal and effortlessly liveable.
