Text description by the architects.

This immaculate 3,200 sq. ft weekend abode has been intrinsically designed keeping in mind the client’s requirement for a tranquil getaway home, where they can unwind &entertain their loved ones. The design of the space employs suave identity & contemporary details to string together the narrative of the project.

Located on the 7th floor of a high-rise structure in an upscale residential neighborhood based in Surat, the home is bestowed with a generous influx of natural light, air & panoramic views of the quaint city. Completed over a period of May to December 2018, this fast-paced project was interlaced with a plethora of design challenges & stringent timelines.

“The pre-existing layout of the residence consisted of 4 bedrooms & auxiliary living spaces that were organised in a boxy layout full of partition walls &spatial barriers. We saw great potential in the idea of opening up the structural framework of the design, letting the niches breathe & working with the pivotal pool feature in the configuration.”, share Ar. Jigar Asarawala & Ar. Chinmay Laiwala.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”15535″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”15536″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

The design process lays emphasis upon the conception of a design that was punctuated with a free-flowing & coherent layout that emanated an eased out yet luxe vibe. The original layout required a large-scale series of changes in order to piece together the final pattern of spaces. “The design of the home had to ultimately aim at being one where the occupant family can de-stress & revitalize on their time away from their hectic schedules. The home’s inherent feel was meant to create a warm setup, where spending time with family & friends can take center stage.”,express the Architects.

The number of bedrooms was reduced from 4 to 3 in order to equip the bedroom spaces with plush & spacious bath and dresser sections. The renewed scheme of spaces witnessed the elimination of a number of internal walls. The partitions have been innovatively refurbished using furniture units that help demarcate various zones in the layout while keeping visual transparency intact. The utilisation of furniture as partition units further add to the compactness of the space & embellish the designed volume with a layered texture.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”15539″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”15540″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

The visual scheme of the Pool House is an amalgamation of chic & minimalistic design sensibilities. The pool in the large living area plays the protagonist in the framework of the residence. The public zones of the space like the living room, dining area& open kitchen have been meshed into the layout of the home &are the sections towards which the family gravitates.

The pool section in the living area renders the residence a feel of that of a conceptual ‘oasis’ of sorts, where all the family’s activities are centralised about the focal water feature. “The pool is the nucleus of the residence. It makes for a strong recreational & aesthetic element in the project’s design. The various nooks of the project were curated around the water feature. Conceptually, the home is a cusp between a dapper & welcoming ambience that has been designed using stark design nuances.”, adds Ar. Tarika Asarawala.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”15543″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”15544″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

In terms of the interior scheme, each niche is the embodiment of the idealistic marriage between panache & stated strains of design. The living area is a vision in sepia& earthy tones that bathe the furnishing scheme. The ensuite bedroom spaces &the dresser sections finished in opulent& sleek materiality comprise the overall grammar of the private sections of the residence. Reclaimed wood, Italian marble, lime putty finish walls, pastel hues & undertones of grey enrich the color & material palette of the Pool House, which further builds on the ethos of the envisioned space.

With the Pool House, the design studio strives to conjure to life a matrix of engaging spaces that a family can find sheer serenity in, as they immerse themselves in a habitat that has been designed with sensitivity towards their needs & aspirations. At the Pool House, the constituent spaces unite homogeneously to create a sanctuary that is ‘home’ to impeccable design & utter comfort.
